Muay Thai Boxing Toughens Up Sports and Leisure Destination Complex in Phuket, Thailand
The competition to become the world’s top international sports facility just became tougher as Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) has appointed former Muay Thai champion “Thanootong’’ Prasert Intanoo to manage the martial arts programme at the impressive Phuket, Thailand sports centre. Just as muay thai boxing demands commitment and skill, the move is another anecdote of the PIASLC recruiting leading experts to work at the emerging extensive facility and help place it as the leading sports and leisure destination in Asia.
Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) offers a wide range of world-class sports, wellness and recreational facilities in operation with more under construction and planned for the future.
The PIASLCincludes almost a dozen specialized sports academies. The new appointmentof Prasert Intanoo will bring the Martial Arts Academy to international attention. The PIA Aquatics Academy and the Football Academy have already established themselves as premier programmes. BSS Futebol de Salao is available as part of the Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club Brazilian Soccer Camp programme. Now Muay Thai joins the best youth soccer training programme offered at the preeminent sports and recreation facility in Southeast Asia.
Former Thailand national flyweight champ Khun Prasert was a Muay Thai professional boxer for 15 years with an impressive 70 wins to his name. He graduated from Taksin University in Songkhla Province with a degree in physical education. He later worked for Marriot as a Muay Thai teacher, and in his position as Recreation Supervisor managed wellness, corporate teambuilding and kid’s zone activities. Khun “Nok” (his Thai nickname) is also a qualified Pilates instructor and certified by the Thai Yoga Institute as an instructor.
The PIASLC is part of the Phuket International Academy (PIA). PIA is a pioneering sports, education, arts and wellness complex located in Phuket, Thailand. PIA comprises three synergistic centres: the PIA Day School, the PIA Sports and Leisure Club, and the PIA Mind Centre.
