Gums bleed for a reason and it is not a good one. Gum tissue that is healthy doesn’t bleed for no reason. Just like the skin on your hand, it should not bleed. Likewise, bleeding gums are abnormal.

Barring some form of traumatic experience, you gums should not bleed. If your gums bleed during flossing or brushing, be aware that is a classic sign of gum disease. And gum disease is not fun.

Many folks are suffering from the advanced form of gum disease. And you really need to be aware of it. The reason why is that periodontal disease ( just another name for gum disease) is a problem that an awful lot of people have. The really sad part is that many do not realize that they have gum disease.

Periodontal disease leads to the loss of teeth if allowed to advance. But do you know that an awful lot of people suffer from bleeding gums and they still don’t understand that they have gum disease. Yet, you can have this problem and your gums may not bleed at all. So you can’t rely on the fact that you haven’t experiened any bleeding of the gums to be conclusive of anything.

I would hazard a guess that you don’t want to lose your teeth and if you have lost some, you probably would like to keep the rest?

Who could blame you? I want to keep mine too and that is why I continue to talk about gum disease. I feel that people should have more awareness of this insidious problem.

The gum tissue is vulnerable, think about how much food you eat. Do you floss and brush regularly? If you do, that is wonderful, but you may not have realized that brushing and flossing may not be enough to prevent gum disease.

There are plenty of people who brush and floss at the frequency that their dentist recommends but they stil lend up developing gum disease, scary isn’t it. It would be to your benefit to stop bleeding gums from developing into greater problems.
